Important announcement
Last Friday we received an email from the council regarding the beach lawns and upcoming events. Last month they were used for event parking for the fireworks whilst the ground was wet which unfortunately led to multiple vehicles becoming stuck and therefore needing to be towed off which in turn caused considerable damage to one of the lawns.
The lawns are currently saturated having received more than four times the amount of rainfall than normal and as a result the ground is not fit for use by events at this time. The recommendation from the council for all imminent events is to reschedule so that the ground has time to recover and remedial works can be carried out to protect them and get them ready for events towards the end of April. Following discussions with the team over the weekend and with the events team at the council today, we have taken the difficult decision to reschedule Clubs Unite at the Beach until September 15th 2024.
We hope you understand that this is not a decision we have taken lightly but unfortunately is one which had to be made to protect the event, the lawns for future events but also your vehicles. We know that your Dubs are your pride and joy and the last thing we want to happen is for them to be damaged due to the ground conditions. This is a huge disappointment for everyone involved in the event but we hope you will understand and support us with the new date and ensure that the Jessie May charity gets the support from our community that it deserves.
Anyone who has already purchased their ticket for the event it will be transferred to the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date and would like a refund, please contact us either via Facebook message or send an email to info@veedubfamily.org.
