Cruise to the Prom 2019

Cruise to the Prom is a one day show where All VW’s are welcome to come and take over the Beach Lawns at Weston Super Mare. Entry to the event is just £5 per vehicle with all proceeds going to a local charity (still to be nominated). The lawns will open at 9:30 and you can remain parked all day until 4pm. We will have club displays, merchandise, hot & cold drinks from O’s Coffee and delicious food from Charcoal. This year we are delighted to announce that the event is sponsored by Simply Surf Bus.
This year the Pride of Ownership awards will consist of the Top 20 Judges Favourites, Best Club Stand and the Spirit of Clive Award. Each winner will receive a trophy and the winner of the Spirit of Clive Award will also be the focus vehicle for next years logo and sticker.
Award Criteria:
All awards – vehicles must be a VW and parked on the lawns
Best Club Stand – clubs must be pre-registered with us and be at the Lawns by 9:15
Spirit of Clive Award – a VW which has your own blood, sweat and tears put into it. Clive was all about making something different just because it could be done, not to follow the crowd or care what anyone else thought. We will be looking for the unique, the individual and the creative. Build evidence / history will be appreciated but not fundamental.
Pride of Ownership winners will be announced at the events gazebo at 2:30pm.
Camping has been arranged for both Saturday and Sunday nights at the Riverside Holiday Park at Bleadon, just outside of Weston. The cost is £20* per vehicle per night with a maximum of six people per vehicle. Whilst camping at Riverside you will be able to enjoy all of the on-site facilities including the club house (with nightly entertainment), bar, restaurant, games room, swimming pool, fishing lakes, children’s play area, toilet and shower block, plenty of outside space for games and more. You will be able to leave awnings and tents up during the day on Sunday whilst you are at the beach lawns safe in the knowledge that we will have on-site security. Please note camping tickets do not include entry to the Lawns on Sunday.
The Cruise on Sunday morning will leave from the side entrance at the Riverside at 10am – turn down Accommodation Road and you will find our marshals at the meeting point 70m down the road who will park you up until The Cruise is ready to leave. The Cruise will be led by last year’s Spirit of Clive Award winner Jason Swan.
