Cruise to the Prom is a one day charity Volkswagen show where all VW types are welcome to join us on the Beach Lawns at Weston Super Mare. Our nominated charity for 2024 is the brilliant Talk Club, an amazing mental health charity who will be joining us on the day. Vehicle entry to the lawns is for VW’s only and costs £8* in advance or £10 on the gate for the day per vehicle – you can have as many passengers as you can legally fit in your vehicle for no extra charge. Vehicles can remain parked on the lawns until 4pm when the show closes.
The lawns will open to the public from 9:30am where we will have club displays, relevant traders, show merchandise, hot & cold food & drinks, ice cream and other activities. Please note that there is an entry by donation policy in force to the main show area to comply with our license from the council – occupants of vehicles on the show fields will not have to pay this.
You may either come straight to the lawns or join the official cruise to the event and rock up with loads of VW’s in convoy, details of which are below and posted within the event on Facebook.
We are also delighted to announce that we have assembled an awesome media team for CTTP ’24 – event photographers Bee Alicia Photography, CXPTR and B.Goz Automotive will be snapping and videoing the day for us.
Starting point is Sanders Garden Centre on the A38 – TA9 4HJ. Arrive any time between 8:15 & 9:15, please have your tickets handy on your phone (or printed) on arrival to help speed up registration. The Cruise will leave at 9:30 and head in to Weston to the Lawns. Due to space limitations at the start point for the Cruise we have added a free Cruise ticket to the list this year – if you are intending on taking part in the Cruise then please add one of these to your order.
Remember that the Cruise is optional – if you would prefer to go directly to the Lawns then please do so!
CTTP has always been about the love or dream of owning a VW and as an event we recognise this with our Pride of Ownership awards – these won’t necessarily go to the shiniest, most expensive VW’s on the field or those which are winning at every show, our awards are all about the love, passion and the effort people have put in to and have for their Dubs. Remember that judging takes place across the entire event site and not just our primary club lawn, so if you have come along in your VW then you could be going home with a trophy! Our categories will be:
Pride of Ownership winners will be announced on the hard standing area in front of the Bristol Detailing Supplies stand at 2:30pm. All winners must be present at the presentation to receive their awards.
Club admin’s please contact us for details regarding club stands. Please note that clubs who wish to display cannot participate in the cruise and must be parked up on the lawns for 9:15am. We operate an arrive together to park together policy due to licensing and insurance conditions and cannot hold space on club stands for late comers. Each club will be allocated an arrival time. When purchasing your vehicle pass, please add a free club stand ticket to your order – at check out, you will be asked to enter the name of your club, please add this so we know how much space to save for your club.
You can pre-order your event merchandise with your tickets and it will be available for collection from the event information tent on the day. If you are local you can also arrange to collect directly from us in advance or from one of our other events or meets. Our merchandise is produced locally by LlamaPrint who make a donation for every item sold to our charity total. We will also have a limited amount of items available to purchase on the day of the event.
Be sure to keep yourselves up to date with every Cruise to the Prom ’24 related by following us on social media – you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Mark yourselves as ‘going’ on the 2024 Facebook event so you don’t miss any announcements or updates.
Our show is open to everyone, even those who don’t own a Volkswagen. Due to our licensing conditions, if you are looking to visit the show but will not be driving a VW you will need to park along Marine Parade or on the beach and pay the normal North Somerset Council parking charge at the meters / to the attendants and then enter via one of our pedestrian gates where you will need to make a donation to the charity in exchange for entry.
